Practice News and Notices

New Arrival!!

We are delighted to be able to tell you that Dr Eleanor Granger has given birth to a baby daughter, Ava Elizabeth, on 6th May 2012. Mother and daughter are both doing well.

Surgery Closures May and June 2012

Please note that the surgeries will be closed on the afternoon of Thursday 24th May 2012 for staff training from 12.30. We will re-open at 08.00 on Friday 25th May 2012. We will also be closed all day on Monday 4th June and Tuesday 5th June 2012 for The Queen's Diamond Jubilee Bank Holiday. We will re-open on Wednesday 6th June 2012 as normal.

GP comings and goings!!

We are delighted to be able to tell you that we have 3 new GPs joining us on a permanent basis!! Dr Sunita Wadhawan joined a couple of weeks ago and comes to us from a practice in the Midlands. Dr Esther Sterrenburg started on Monday 2nd April, and has moved a short distance from Manston Surgery in Leeds. Finally, Dr Sumita Saha is joining us from Monday 16th April, though you will have seen her around already as she has been working as a locum doctor here since  the start of the year. A big welcome to all 3.

Sadly, we are also losing some current members of the team. Dr Rachel Gospel is leaving to take up a partnership at a practice in York. Rachel has been with us since 2003 and has contributed hugely to the success of the practice. Dr Eleanor Granger is about to depart on maternity leave for the birth of her third child. They both go with all our best wishes!!

Patient Reference Group (PRG)

The 2nd meeting of the PRG took place on 20th March 2012 and was attended by 5 patients out of the 8 current members. The survey results were analysed and an Action Plan agreed on. This Action Plan will form the basis for our work over the next year.

A report has been produced (Local Participation Report) which details what has gone on so far with the group. This is available through this website and will soon be on the noticeboards in the surgeries, along with the Action Plan and minutes from the last meeting.

New members still welcome!!

APPOINTMENTS

We are fully aware that sometimes it is not possible to make an appointment at the most convenient time to suit you. We do endeavour to provide emergency appointments, with an unspecified Doctor, for the same day and less urgent cases to be seen within one week.

However, if you insist on seeing a specific Doctor please be prepared that you may have to wait longer than a week.
